Set Your Life on Fire, Seek Those Who Fan Your Flames. - Rumi

Welcome, traveler. You’ve found the herd.

I Love Elephants is a Ram Dass–inspired camp rooted in presence, compassion, and shared care for the living world.

For 2026, we’re inviting collaborators into The Living Commons — an open, shaded, gathering space designed for movement, reflection, and ecological connection. The Commons is composed of participant-hosted 10×10×10 art cubes, each a personal “I Love…(fill in the blank)” offering honoring a species or ecosystem. These offerings may take the form of art, displays, movement, sound, storytelling, data-as-poetry, or quiet presence.

Elephants remain our matriarchal anchor, reminding us how to move together as a herd — attentive, connected, and responsive to one another.

We’re seeking artists, educators, movers, scientists, storytellers, contemplatives, caregivers, and nature-lovers who feel called to:

Host a 10×10×10 cube centered on their “I Love…” theme

Offer workshops, performances, talks, or DJ-supported gatherings

Support the Commons through service, care, and participation

Whether you come to build, cook, teach, move, listen, or simply be — you are welcome.

This camp isn’t about performance or perfection; it’s about sincerity, presence, and shared care.

If you feel the call, whether you camp with us, or not, we invite you to share your intention. 👉 Submit your intention here: https://forms.gle/v2vKPemeMgotX3uS7 Let’s build this together — with presence, care, and community. Be Here Now. 🐘💛

The Origin of I Love Elephants Camp

I Love Elephants was born from a love of nature, a reverence for the wisdom of the herd, and a desire to bring a deeply rooted, heart-centered presence to the playa.

Our story began with a small group of friends — yogis, ecstatic dancers, artists, and earth lovers — who shared a vision: to create a space that honors the spirit of elephants not only as majestic beings, but as symbols of collective strength, emotional depth, and gentle power.

Elephants live in tightly bonded, matriarchal herds defined by memory, empathy, and deep connection. In them, we saw a model for the kind of community we wished to build — a place where everyone belongs, where love is expressed boldly, and where consciousness rises through creativity, service, and care.

What began as a single shaded tent offering quiet conversation and intention-setting has grown into a full camp experience rooted in movement, presence, and shared humanity.

New for 2026
✨ Open-Air Movement Pavilion

We are introducing an expansive open-air movement pavilion featuring 3,000 square feet of padded dance and yoga flooring. Aluminet shade cloth will stretch elegantly between four scaffold towers, creating a breathable, uplifting environment. Unlike the enclosed circus tents of past years, this design invites the vibrant energy of the playa directly into our moving bodies and shared practice. We are deeply excited for this evolution of our ecstatic offerings.

🚐 Playa Wheels (Maybe!)

Our camp has dreamt of an art car for several years, and 2026 may be our inaugural year. One of our creative campmates is currently manifesting magic in the form of our very own Playa Wheels. Stay tuned…

🚻 Camp Porta-Johns

Yes indeed — we will have private camp toilets this year. A small but meaningful upgrade in comfort and care.

Ongoing Offerings

Our Be Here Now geodesic dome will continue to host workshops, talks, and interactive art experiences, presented by a constellation of friends of Ram Dass. This space offers opportunities to engage with, reflect on, and share in the living spirit of the Ram Dass Dharma.

Between the sharing of this announcement and the opening of the Gate, much more magic will unfold.

Our camp blends the sacred and the celebratory. Elders and first-time Burners alike gather in our communal shade, cool mist, and open-hearted circles. We dance. We meditate. We build. We serve. And we remember that this is a gift—everything we bring, share, and offer is a celebration of being alive, together, here and now.

I Love Elephants is not just a name—it’s a practice. It’s how we show up. It’s how we hold each other. It’s how we imagine a gentler, wilder, more conscious world—one dusty footprint at a time.
